Chlorinators

Chlorinators

Dosage of substances for the sake of drinking water disinfection has particular technical requirements. The dosing unit must provide precise dosage, in such a way that the level of dissolved solution is stable. Too low of a dose will not provide the appropriate biocidal effect, too high will pose a risk to the health of consumers. In the waterworks industry, the most common solution is sodium hypochlorite, a preparation that has the tendency to gas itself, which can lead to air getting into the dosing pump’s head and stopping the dosage process. MCC offers a wide range of chlorinators, from economic devices based on the DDE series pumps to more advanced devices, allowing for Ethernet-based digital communication.

Description

MCC offers chlorinator based on Grundfos brand compo nents. The heart of a chlorinator is a dosage pump with a stepper motor. It provides a precise dosage of sodium hypochlorite, unlike motors with an electromagnetic drive, the suction flow is relatively slow, which minimizes degassing of the fluids. The stepper mottor allows for precise dosage, regardless if the efficiency is equal to 1 or 1000 ml per hour.

The electronics allow for remote controll of the provess, dosing either based on an analog signal (4-20mA), impulse signal or on/off. A wide range of storage tank sizes let the user store as much solution as necessary, without risking its expiration. Advanced accessories help prevent the system from siphoning (especially importnat in the case of feeding directly from a drilled well), as well as signal issues such as cable malfunctions, insufficient amount of solution or the control cable being cut off.

Basic chlorinator equipment:
* Grundfos dosage pump DDE 6l/h,
* PE storage tank 100l,
* Collection bowl for the tank,
* Suction lance with a low level sensor,
* Injection valve,
* Hoses for dosing the solution,

Optional equipment:
* Advanced DDA or DDC pump,
* Impulse water meter or electromagnetic flowmeter,
* Multipurpose valve with an anti-siphoning function,
* Manual or electrical mixer,
* Pulsation dampener,
* Overflow valve,
* Fluid flow sensor,
Specialists from MCC can select and deliver a flowmeter or an impulse water meter, to provide precise dosage. All components have PZH certification, allowing their use in water treatment systems.

Parameters- DDA Series

DDA pump parameters:
• maximum efficiency: 7,5 l/h with maximum pressure of 16 bar
• maximum efficiency: 12,0 l/h with maximum pressure of 10 bar
• maximum efficiency: 17,0 l/h with maximum pressure of 7 bar
• maximum efficiency: 30,0 l/h with maximum pressure of 4 bar

Operation modes of DDA dosage pumps:
• Manual, in ml/h, I/h or gph.
• Impulse in ml/impulse (with a memory function).
• Analog 0/4-20 mA (scalable).
• Impulse dose control in ml, l or gal.
• Timer dose control (time, cycle or weekly transmitter).
• Fieldbus DP control (Genibus suited for Profibus E-box).

Head material:
• PP
• PVC
• PVDF
• Stainless steel

Sealing (availability depends on the head’s material):
• EPDM
• FKM
• PTFE

Chlorinators can be additionally supplied with:
• multi-purpose valves – mounted directly on the press side of the pump. The top connection is for the press tube, and the side one returns excess fluid back to the tank. These valves allow the pump to be deaired and the press tube to be emptied.
• suction lances: with or without a level sensor,
• compactor type manual stirring tool,
• water meter with an impulsator,
• PE tank with capacity: 60l, 100l, 200l,
• cart for transport.

Parameters- DDC series

DDC pump parameters:
• maximum efficiency: 6,0 l/h with maximum pressure of 10 bar
• maximum efficiency: 9,0 l/h with maximum pressure of 7 bar
• maximum efficiency: 15,0 l/h with maximum pressure of 4 bar

Operation modes of DDA dosage pumps:
