Military operations or natural disasters can bring along desruction in infrastructure. The lack of capacity to produce drinking water is particularly disastrous in such situations. A solution to this problem are mobile water treatment stations, built on top of car trailers. Such a station can provide the means to produce drinking water, by gathering water from contaminated water streams. The ease of transport and simplicity of use makes it the perfect tool to provide clean drinking water to inhabitants of afflicted terrains.

Description

Mobile water treatment stations are suited for transport, and can be built on a car trailer. Due to its low weight, it can be transported even behind a passenger car. The transported weight is about 500kg.

The water tretment station includes the following processes:

  • Sedimentation and initial disinfection,
  • Sand filtration,
  • Active coal filtration,
  • UV rays disinfection,
  • Final disinfection- chlorination,

The system is equipped with a pump supplying water from a river or a different water reservoir. Its power is equal to 2.5 or 3.6kW, depending on the model.
