Vortex flowmeters are suited for flow measurements of liquids and gasses such as steam or compressed air. The flowmeter functions by detecting Kármán vortexes forming as a result of the fluid making contact with a solid barrier. The devices are available in sizes from DN10 to DN500, with wafer type connections or flanges. The medium temperature, depending on the version, equals from -20 to even 420oC. The measuring accuracy equals 1%. Versions equipped with integral pressure and temperature sensors are available, allowing for mass flow calculation. The device is outfitted with a readable display.
