Absorption chillers produce chill by utilizing the physical changes of lithium bromide solutions, instead of costly electric energy.  Utilizing this technology increases the energetical effectiveness, allowing for waste heat utilization and reducing the overall energy usage. The source of energy can be, for example burning biomass, waste heat from technological processes (such as those of gas engines) or heat from solar collectors.
